Quills Group Cookie Policy

This website quillsuk.co.uk (“Website”) is owned and operated by Quills Office Supplies Ltd (“Quills Group”, “Quills”, “us” or “we”).  You can also see how we use data in our privacy policy.

Cookies are small pieces of data that monitor your internet usage and preferences; they’re usually used to enhance your experience of a website based on your previous usage.

A primary example of cookies that most websites utilise would be log-in details. When you submit a login and password to a website, that website can use cookies to store that information and save it for when you return to the site next time.

Cookies are stored on your devices as text files while you browse the internet. When you return to a website, your browser sends back the cookies to the website and the site can then tailor your experience according to that data. For example, if you’re on a worldwide store, the cookies would allow the website to read your preferred language and currency.

Different types of cookies

  • Permanent Cookies

Permanent cookies are cookies that remain after you’ve closed your browser. While these cookies last longer, they are only legally allowed to be stored for a maximum of six months. Permanent cookies are usually used for things like storing passwords.

  • Session Cookies

Session cookies expire once you close your browser; they’re only stored for the session. An example of these may be online shopping stores. When you shop online, items you add to a bag are stored while you continue browsing – this is the use of cookies.

  • Third Party Cookies

Third party cookies are cookies installed by third-party websites. An example of these are advertisements. Have you ever been browsing the internet and been shown adverts from websites you’ve looked at recently? Items you’ve added to your basket, but not yet bought – or maybe things you’ve added to your wish list? These are third party cookies.
